“Eat, Move, Sleep, Smile”

Dr William Li’s summary of how to live 20 years longer. Yes TWENTY years longer. Well into your 90’s in really vibrant health.

William W. Li, MD, is an internationally renowned Harvard-trained medical doctor, researcher, and president and a founder of the Angiogenesis Foundation. His groundbreaking work has impacted more than seventy diseases including cancer, diabetes, blindness, heart disease, and obesity.

EAT

I’m pleased to say that Dr Li recommends some of my favourite foods as essential: Coffee, Tea, Pears and Apples (“an 🍏 a day keeps the doctor away”), and Chillies – the hotter the better 🌶️🌶️🌶️ You’ll find more information on this at about minute 50 in an interview with him on YouTube – click on his photo above to get to it, or HERE. Its a long listen but well worth it.

MOVE

This is one way of getting a work out !!!

Took me nearly an hour to land a small Marlin as you’ll know from my post last week. Both the fish and I had a proper physical !! Both since swimming free and happy 🎣 🐟 😁

SLEEP

I slept like a log after my fishing exploits on Easter Monday. A full 12 hours!! Woke up feeling fantastic. In recent weeks, since I started taking B1 Thiamine, I’ve noticed a number of improvements, including how refreshed I am in the mornings. I can now wake up able to talk straight away, something that has been lost to Parkinson’s in the last five years.

SMILE

This photo is worth sharing again. This is how to spend a day smiling!

Fozzie has been a pal since 1969. We met playing rugby in Uganda and both ended up in Kenya. We’ve been fishing and laughing ever since 😁

I’m a spring chicken compared to Fozzie. He’s 88 to my 77.

Both of us well on the way to Live to be 100 Years Old !!!

ITS GOING WELL

I mentioned above that I can now talk when I wake up in the morning. Not only that, I can also:

  • Walk and stand better. I’m using my wheelchair much less.
  • See better. I no longer need my reading glasses for emails.
  • Do more, I’m so much stronger. QED playing with a fish for an hour!

Friendship

Can you spot me in the pic below? A fantastic gang of friends from 2013 – a decade back now, but we’re all still great pals. This was a year after my Parkinson’s diagnosis and this lot have kept me going ever since. They’re all good people ❤️
