Four more of the 12 ways to reduce dementia basically come down to what you eat and how that affects your BLOOD and vascular system.
Professor Jonathan Schott, chief medical officer at Alzheimer’s Research UK, said that only 30% of people know they can take action to reduce the risk of dementia in later life.
He goes on to say that up to 40% of worldwide dementia risk can be reduced through modifying what we do.
Four of the twelve modifiable actions are related to what you eat and how that impacts good or bad health:
- Eat a balanced diet
- Keep a healthy level of cholesterol
- Maintain healthy blood pressure
- Manage diabetes as well as possible
Professor Schott also said “It’s vital that we do all that we can, as individuals and society, to reduce our risk”. Reducing the burden of dementia on health and care services as well as our families, makes this bigger than just our own personal desire to dodge this terrible disease.
A BALANCED DIET – Live to be 100 !!!
Just how delicious does that Bloody Mary at the top look? I mean, bar the vodka, you’d think it was a health food, but…
🍅 Tomato skins and pips contain lectins which are toxic and bitter. That’s why so many traditional Italian recipes ask you to skin and deseed tomatoes.
🫑 Ditto peppers – again so much sweeter without skins and seeds.
A slightly modified Caesar salad is a favourite of mine.
So too butter coffee. Sounds disgusting? Well give it a try. Made properly its lovely, like a latte.
It’s the recipe that made Bulletproof Coffee famous for its weight loss, energy increasing benefits.
- Drink Bulletproof Coffee instead of eating a carbohydrate-heavy breakfast, and you’ll feel full and energised for hours. Butter coffee or keto coffee, is made with quality fats that are fuel for mind and body.
- To make it, blend together freshly brewed coffee, MCT oil and grass-fed butter or Ghee. Get the full recipe at the bottom of this page.
SMARTER NOT HARDER
Dave Asprey – the famous biohacker – inventor of Bulletproof – and a great favourite of mine – says we are essentially lazy so learn to eat smarter and make your body’s built in laziness work for you!
I can’t recommend this highly enough. I may have had Parkinsons for over a decade. While its taken its toll in some ways, in no way as badly as it might have done. Thank goodness I am STAVING OFF DEMENTIA.
Everything from respected academics like Professor Schott and Bio-hackers who aim to live well past 100 are pointing towards the same thing. Get your diet right to keep your body systems strong and healthy.

Here’s that recipe for Bulletproof coffee that I promised you. Give it a go 👍
