It was a privilege to sit and do a long interview with Alex Mead at The Rugby Journal earlier this year.
Not least because I share an edition with Jiffy, Jonathan Davies, a legend of Welsh rugby and a visitor to Hemingways here in Kenya.
I’m pretty explicit about my feelings for the people that scuppered the Cornwall Stadium, but not as explicit as Jiffy about missing a Lions selection – maybe there’s a reason he has two “F”s in Jiffy!!!
The illustrator Mark Long created the fantastic version of me as a Pirate that you see at the top. When I was made a Cornish Bard in 2013 I was given the Cornish name Morlader Pensans which translates to the Pirate of Penzance. Now I have a portrait to suit!!
If you love rugby and a deep dive into its world, you can buy the magazine by clicking on the following link:
Meanwhile, I also discovered a new Wikipedia entry for a certain “Richard G.R. Evans” Who knew this lad from Penzance who migrated to Africa would end up in the world’s largest encyclopedia? Not me!!!
